St. Louis Cardinal Sins
When you have a lead late in the game, you expect to keep it right? Tell that to the St. Louis crew.

The Cards last two games have been tough to watch. Yesterday a 5-0 lead wasn’t enough for the Red Birds. A couple errors and bad bullpen pitching led the Cardinals to an 8-7 defeat.
[picappgallerysingle id="5709061"]
But that was NOTHING compared to the day before. Oh boy. If a 9-3 ninth inning lead isn’t enough, what is? This is getting embarrassing.
The Cards bullpen gave up a crooked nine runs in the bottom half which included two three-run homers off of Ryan Franklin. Yuck! Now, the Cards Ace is losing to the Rockies 3-0 in the fifth. This is not the way to head into the All-Star break. If I was a Cardinal fan I would be livid. This year the defense has been bad, the strikeouts have been up, and the division isn’t even that good! They better get that act together fast or the owners wont be dishing out the fat contracts to some of the upcoming free agents (Pujols excluded).

The Cards are limping and the Reds aren’t letting up. Do you think Cincinnati will take the Central? Who all picked that!?
Strike Three: Ubaldo
Ubaldo Jimenez picked up his 12th win. He is sensational. He has it all, speedy fastballs, bending breaking pitches, and a desire to win.
[picappgallerysingle id="9092040"]
There are only a few other pitchers in baseball you might rather have than him. I’d take Roy Halladay or Tim Lincecum. I also like Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright too. All of those NL pitchers are winners and Cy Young candidates when they’re healthy (Carpenter).
[picappgallerysingle id="8486052"]
Jimenez has kept that ERA at a clean 1.16. That’s nasty. Now, listen fans it is going to be in the mid two range by the end of the season so don’t get carried away. Carpenter had the best ERA last year with a 2.24 and that’s quite the number. Ubaldo does have 12 wins already which is key. I like him to win the Cy this year and break the Tim train up a little bit. I hope he stays healthy and can get it done for the Rockies.
[picappgallerysingle id="5129300"]
That way there will be something to celebrate in Colorado. The no-hitter and Cy because they won’t be winning that division.
STRIKE THREE AND I’M OUT!
LeBron Visits the King
Larry King will host LeBron James on his show Friday night. The featured questions will surely be about where King James is leaning towards ending up for the 2010-11 season.
[picappgallerysingle id="8787164"]
LeBron has been more of a media junky than Brett Favre this year. Will he or won’t he has been the topic of every Cleveland newspaper for months. They didn’t even care about the playoffs this year. How sad is that?!
[picappgallerysingle id="8765058"]
My opinion, James better stay with the Cavs. He will become the most hated player in sports history. Players that demand trades or create this drama don’t end up well liked.
[picappgallerysingle id="6246703"]
Just ask the Denver Broncos how much they like how Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall treated them. Red Sox fans weren’t too big of Manny fans after his demands. The Eagles and Terrell Owens…enough said.
[picappgallerysingle id="8767581"]
LeBron is loved in Cleveland without the ring. He needs to stay or he will forever be remembered as the guy who left the Cavs and the city in the dust. I mean, they even forgave him for the dreaded Yankees hat at the Indians game stunt. STRIKE ONE!
Barring any unbelievable collapse, Ubaldo Jimenez will win the Cy Young. With a no hitter under his belt, a 10-1 record, and an ERA under one, he has it locked up.
[picappgallerysingle id="8968082"]
Jimenez is truly gifted. But this talent has sort of come out left field. He was quite good last year. 15 wins and an ERA just under 3.50. Before that his ERA was just under 4.00 in 2008 and he was 12-12. However, how do you get here from there?
[picappgallerysingle id="8968080"]
Whatever the 26 year-old is doing it is working. He is sensational. Ubaldo is giving us a reason to watch the Rockies who are playing in a very competitive NL West.
I still think that the Dodgers will win that one with the Giants taking the Wild Card. But hey, the Padres are great too and if Jimenez can try and keep his club in it, who knows? well, I do. It’ll be L.A. and San Fran. STRIKE TWO!
I took some time to wait and release my feelings on the 2014 cold bowl. To be honest, who cares?
[picappgallerysingle id="8912724"]
This game is played in all kinds of climates during the year. The Chargers never see a spec of bad weather in San Diego. Now, if they go to their division rival in Denver late in the year, they could be bombarded with snow.
[picappgallerysingle id="8912528"]
Every team should be prepared for this kind of weather so it really shouldn’t matter. Football analysts are going crazy and I heard Mike and Mike in the morning go nuts over this too. But come on guys, it’s football.
[picappgallerysingle id="1839444"]
The Colts-Bears Super Bowl was plyed in pouring down rain. So what? It’s the game we love to watch. I don’t prefer rain over snow or clear skies over cloudy scary-looking skies. We are being ridiculous here. The fact is the East got this Super Bowl and good for them. I hope they start putting these games all over the U.S.
Maybe Soldier Field could get one? STRIKE THREE AND I’M OUT!
