2010 AFC and NFC South

The AFC South has been more competitive these past couple of seasons. Usually, it’s just the Colts. Although I will be picking a 13-3 Colts division winner, the Titans are my second and final wildcard in the AFC.

Tennessee has all the talent to be the second wildcard. Vince Young isn’t anything spectacular but the running game will keep this team afloat. Also, you have to factor in a great defense. I do expect Tennessee to have to steal one from Peyton and crew in order to take the other wildcard and finish with ten wins.

Houston is better but still at that point where they aren’t a playoff team but a team making a push for it. Don’t count on Jacksonville to be bad either. This division could very well be the best. That’s why I picked the Colts as my AFC Super Bowl team. And I think they’ll win it.

The Saints are going to win the NFC South but I wanted to pick the Falcons. Look out for these guys. The Saints are going to win 12 games or so but Hotlanta could make a run for the wildcard with the Burner Turner. Now, I picked the Giants and Packers to win the wildcard spots but a team like Atlanta can make it interesting. However, they’ll probably lose one of those bunny games and shoot themselves in the foot.

The Panthers are rebuilding with a new QB. Don’t expect Matt Moore to play like he did in relief of Daylight Come who needed to go home. Jimmy Clausen shouldn’t see a snap this year so it’s going to be a rough go. They’ll have the running game but they’re going to become one dimensional. The Buccaneers are improved but still a four or three win team. They did beat Green Bay last year!

Finally, we’ll do the West tomorrow!

SB Surprise, The Classic RFer, LeBron for 47

Well, who called it? Saints 31 Colts 17. I know I didn’t. What a fantastic three-quarters by the Saints. They feel down early (against Peyton, that’s bad). And after a fourth and goal miss I thought this game was O-V-E-R. But after a completely dominated second quarter and the onside kickoff to lead the second half!? I knew who everyone was routing for at the end. Personally, I’m happy for NO and Mr. Brees. It couldn’t have been capped off any more awkwardly though. A Peyton Manning pick followed by a Reggie Wayne dropped fourth down pass. Huh? STRIKE ONE! (more…)

QB Retires, Old CF is Back, SB Prediction.

Another offseason and another year of the “Will Favre Be Back” headlines destroying sporting news over the country. Do you get sick of it? Yes. Do you want him to retire? Yes. Will he ever win another Super Bowl? No. Favre can never know when to hang it up. He had a great year with the Vikings and an awful season with the Jets the year before. It doesn’t matter if he throws the NFC Championship game-losing pick (twice in three years) or not, he’ll still want to come back. Brett, take a page out of a guy whos numbers you have topped. Elway did it with class. Take a guy whos numbers are no where near yours, Warner; he did it with class. It’s over. End it. Leave. STRIKE ONE! (more…)
